Task 4

Low quality final animation

Below is the evidence of my exporting my final animation in low quality.

A .mp4 file is a file type for a video and audio files and it saves your footage in a much smaller file size. Because of this, I exported the animation as a .mp4 for the lower quality so that it was supportive.
My compression rate = H.264 this means it allows for a standard compression rate to compress a large file into a smaller file without effecting any quality. By using the compression rate, the file size massively reduced from the above. To explain further, I used this compression rate as it can let you shrink a large file into a much smaller file meaning i can transfer this into a smaller devices for example smartphones and tablets. This is an advantage because the brief asks for an animation that is viewable on a smartphone device as a full page. On the other hand a disadvantage of this is that once it has been compressed, you can't undo this process. This is a disadvantage because if anything needs to be changed then I'd have to go back to the raw animation footage/timeline on Final Cut.
I compressed this file appropriately, as the brief states it needs to be viewed on a smartphone device and accessible across many other devices as this allows the animation to be spread across all different platforms and devices. Also as this is a smaller file size it doesn't take as long to download or stream which speeds up this whole process.

I used BITMAP images in your lower resolution file because i used this because these images require less space and are a smaller file size and therefore don't demand a huge amount of memory on a device, when playing back.

High quality final animation

Below is the evidence of my exporting my final animation in high quality.

Much like images (.TIFF as vector images), I had to export my animation as a high quality file so that it could be viewed on the web as required within the brief. A .mov file is a high quality file, my final size of my animation is 572.6MB, which is over half a GB. This is significantly larger than the compressed export above (62.2Mb).

In Final Cut, during the exporting process you can see that I change my compression rate to ProRes this means its a professional resolution, which doesn't compress file. It keeps all the original information connected to each file, which results in a huge amount of the memory and results in a larger file size. I used this compression rate as this is used because i wanted to create a high quality file that could be viewed on the website to promote the march. This is important as it can be viewed on high quality devices like computers and laptop as this will present the animation the best. This is because computers devices as it supports the large file size, have higher memory and processors, but an obvious disadvantage means that you cant watch this on a smaller black box device for example a phone or ipads with ease. Of course you can view it on a smartphone/tablet, but if you choose to stream or download then it will cause issues. Issues such as lagging or taking up storage are the main ones.

D2

I chose a 2D animation as i found this was most simple and time effective way to complete it. I chose to create the animation with software that I was already fairly comfortable with. I decided to make it this way in part because it was faster than using more complex techniques like stop motion. This is because, as instead of recording individual images and then editing them all together, I can film and edit every scenario as a complete. This style of animation allowed me to change the facial expressions and and bring certain locations to life. The frame rate of animation was 24FPS (framer per second). This helps for my animation to be smooth and engaging physical experience. The usual frame rate for productions, particularly in the film and television sectors is 24 frames per second. My animation keeps the same frame rate, duration, and tempo throughout since I didn't want to change the plot's pace. This helps to preserve a fluid and easy-to-follow pace for the animation, which makes it simple to watch and understand. Since the primary goal is to promote and educate people about the march, I concluded that this frame rate was a good fit for the intended purpose. The duration of my animation is 1min and 10 seconds. I thought this was the perfect time for my anmiation to be as i didn't want to make it too long because the audience may start getting less interested or bored. The brief states to promote the zombie march meaning this has to be very quick and engaging making sure people and interested throughout.

Fitness for purpose

The animation is fit for purpose to entertain as it runs in high quality, and also is entertaining and engaging. I wanted to promote the animation as a advert as this can help to keep my audience engaged throughout. One reason my animation was entertaining is i used creative and interesting backplates that helped to link to my animation being scary and the genre of horror. For example i think the blackplate of the graveyard helps to create a scary tone and shows my zombie starting his journey. A example of where my animation was promotional was when my zombie comes across the zombie fest poster attached to the lampost, promoting the zombie fest being held by the company braingoo. Lastly one way i informed people when creating my animation is that in the brief is states i needed to include a march and a zombiethon. We can see i did this when showing this in the cinema scene and this helps to inform viewers about what is taking place.

My target audience demographic reaches out to a wide range of people. When looking into this in terms of gender, my target audience isn't targeted towards either genders, as both genders can enjoy and watch horror animations. The main character in my animation is a female zombie which may lead to female horror infuesiest may feel more conected. This is a positive as horror infuesest  traditionally linked to masculinity and by having a female lead in animation will help to involve both genders. In terms of race, my animation is also not targeted towards a certain race in particular as the genre horror is meant to scare people of all races. In terms of age my main target audience is 17-25, this gives is beacause this age group is normally the most interested in horror. Another reason is that these ages are mostly likley to atend the zombie march. In terms of class it is targeted towards all social classes as they can enjoy horror, and might be more accessible towards people with icome as they can afford to purchase horror products such as books and films.
