Task 2- Planning an animation(P3,P4,M2)

 Mood board

In this mood board we can see my main colour scheme of white and green, this links to the theme of zombies and a zombie fest. I have also included the location of this march as it can be seen presented in the london underground and the main station being lester sqaure. We can also i have included alot of pictures of zombies as this is the main theme and characters being shown in my animation.

Movements

These are my computer generated characters created for my animation, we can see that i have included various movments for example this one, as the zombie is presented walking to the right while draging his left leg which links to the theme of zombies.

In this movement we can now see the zombie and main character in the animation in more of a running motion, while also holding his hand in the air. This movement can be used in many different shots and scene as the zombies are rushing to get to the zombie march.

In this movement we can see the zombie lying down and this movement can be used in the animation for example the zombie lying down coming out the grave or crawling instead of walking.

Facial expressions

In this facial expression we can see the zombie with a angry expression, which can be seen as scary and will reflect this in my animation. We can also see i added the red eyes that showcase this expression more and help to present this facial expression.

In this facial expression we can see a devious expression which can be used in the animation when causing trouble or knowing whats about to happen. This expression helps to create certain emotions and feelings through the facial expression.

This last facial expression we can see the zombie presented as sad or upset and i can use this in my animation, when the zombie dosen't get his own way or make it to the march.

My character visually may look a little different depending on the character inclusion from Vyond, but the movements, colour, style and facial expressions will all be the same.

Storyboard
In terms of my music, I have decided to use some calming music to provide as a contrast to the visuals.

Storyline:
In my animation, it is based on a zombie who is presented with a poster when coming out at night from the grave. The zombie then takes the train from high barnet station and heads to lester square where the march is located. He then enjoys in some street food stalls, live music and some movie stars. When all is going well until the humans rebel against the zombies and a fight breaks out. The zombies come out ontop turning all humans into zombies, and then this leads to the end shot being the zombies all together enjoying the march.

P4: Create a pre-production plan for the animation

Synopsis - One cold windy night a zombie arose from the grave to embark on a interesting journey. The zombie spots a poster that showcases a zombie march in central London(leister sqaure). The zombie makes the journey to march while enjoying in music, food stalls and autograph singnings. All was going well unit a random human attacked the zombies with acid, causing the zombies to fight back which led to the human to turn into a zombie!!

Target audience- My target audience will be 18-21 year olds as i think this age group will be the most interested in my animation. We also have to focus on the genre and reach out to horror enthusiasts, this is why we want to make certain parts of the animation scary and grusome. For example when the human attacks the zombies with acid and the zombie fights back. As this animation is heavy on visuals including fight scenes and some gory  scenes. The story will reach out to all genders, races and classes. This is important as it will make everyone feel included and envolved, but also looking at satistics this may reach out to a more male dominent as they prefer the genre of horror. The secondary target audience for my animation is 15-18 year olds this is because this age group and demographic statisically like this genre and theme the most.

Purpose- The purpose for my animation is to make sure that i entertain and engage my audience with my animation. The goal is to make sure that I am promoting my animation to my target audience of adults over the age of 18, keeping people informed about it, and ensuring that it is receiving attention. Making sure I am promoting the zombie feast within the animation is the goal.

MediumBraingoo promotions want a animation that will be exported in a format that is suitable for distribution across the web and smartphone interface. I'll edit my animation in Final Cut Pro. According to the brief, the animation is intended for BrainGoo Productions, who will use it to create a horror app that would fill a whole page on a mobile device.
My current animation style is 2D, and I'm making it with the help of the programme Vyond. With the use of this app, I'm creating an animation that shows how the zombies travel to Leicester Square Station from High barnet Station he then joins the march, and turn every human into a zombie by touching them. The night concludes with them watching the zombie marathon.

Identification of potential hazards and risks:

Personnel- Equipment

Online animation programme - I'm going to be creating and editing my animation with Vyond. Because it's user-friendly and straightforward, it will help with the creation of the animation. I select this programme because I am not as familiar with other ones.

Computer- One essential piece of gear is a computer. This is so that all programmes and applications, including the animation programme, which is exclusive to computers, may be available here.

Mouse and keyboard- In order to operate the computer and browse the programmes, you must have a keyboard and mouse. To change the animation and get my stuff onto the computer, I'll need a mouse. I won't be able to utilise the computer or the programmes I need to complete my animation with a keyboard and mouse.

Microphone- I need a microphone to complete the voiceover for my animation, this is a key feature as a microphone allows for the best possible audio when recording instead of doing this from the computer itself.

Final cut - I need this to edit together my sound effects, music, dialogue, transitions and to add any other edits.

Personnel

Editor- The editor plays a crucial role in the animation since they give it a polished, finished appearance. To make the animation more engaging, they also include effects and transitions. My animation wouldn't appear professional without an editor. (Required March - April)

Foley Artist- All of the noises heard in the animation are the result of the work of the foley artist. To avoid copyright violations, it must be unique, hence foley artists must create entirely unique sounds.

Scriptwriter- I  will utilise this script to create the animation, hence the scriptwriter is crucial to developing the animation's framework. The speech and dialogue that the screenwriter has included in the script will be recorded by the voiceover artist. (Required 10th-12th March)

Animator- The person who develops all of the content and visuals that are combined to create movement in an animation is known as the animator. They play a crucial role in the animation's creation. (Required throughout April 4th-10th 2024)

Gantt Chart

Swot analysis

Strengths

Some strengths of my animations storyline is that it is a simple and easy to understand story while also having some complex elements. For example the end of the story ends with the zombies and human being in conflict and also has some scary and grusome moments which links to the target audience of 18-21. My character is presented has a female zombie who when gets attacked by a human fights back, this could possibly stand out to the audience and make them feel like they should stand up for themselves in all situations. I have also created my own backgrounds and will also be using a high quality software and equipment.

Weaknesses

One weakness of my animation storyline could be the script as there is not much diologe presented. Other companies could see this as a weakness because competitors may have much more speech and diologe in their animations, or add more to compete with my animation. My character dose not link to other existing characters which could possibly be a bad thing as it is original and the audience may not like or connect with the character. This can be seen as weakness as it means my character is new and niche will may not go well as most people like different versions of the same characters and may not connect with my character. This means it may be a risk and a weakness as i am bringing in a new character into this market and my audience may not like or relate to them.

Opportunities

I think that this animation has the chance to expand into a film and a comic, the reason for this is that the storyline is engaging throughout and can also be expanded on. This would also allow the animation to gain a wider audience as it would be targeting and reaching different people. I also believe that the animation can be presented on many different social media platforms by using little snip its of the animation to promote it. By promoting little parts of the animation that are interesting it will draw the audience wanting to watch the remainder of the animation. This also will help to reach out to my audience and and see if they are interested in my animation by presenting a small parts of it.

Threats

Some key threats of my animation would be competition, for example Tokyo ghoul or Koutetsujou no Kabaneri. These are two of the biggest zombie animations and cause a threat as we both have the same genre and style. This is a big threat as these are key things of my animation and could link to other animations which could cause the audience to not want to watch it as they may have seen similar themes, genre and style. Another threat could be certain scenes in the animation which certain people may not like for example the acid being thrown on the zombie or the zombies fighting back against the humans. This can be seen as a threat as certain people may not want to watch the animation when seeing this part of it as it can be quite explicet.
